Citi Prestige Downgrade?

Already the most expensive credit card that can be applied for in the Philippines, Citi Prestige has apparently adjusted their credit card program this year with 2 big changes.

The first biggest change is the complimentary 4th night free at any hotel booked through the concierge, twice (2x) per calendar year. Notice how its only twice a year now unlike before when it was unlimited. If you frequently travel and stay in hotels for more than 4 days per stay then this would have been a very lucrative travel perk of the Citi Prestige card. Now its capped at twice a year, which isn't bad but now you'd have to better plan on which stays you would want use the perk on to get the best value instead of just using it on hotel that you go to.

3 Thank you points is still equal to 1 airline mile so we've got to be glad because that remains unchanged. Meaning you can still take advantage of the 5x spend multiplier on shopping and dinning for earning free flights better that the Citi PremierMiles.

Now the biggest change is the annual fee increase from PHP 12,000 to PHP 18,000. Don't forget that this is non-waivable and is billed on your first bill cycle. This PHP 6,000 increase is big considering that most travel credit cards here only have an annual fee of around PHP 5,000 and now with the downgraded benefits from the program.

With the changes to the program would you still get this card? Let me in know on Facebook or Instagram!
