Safety is the new luxury in travel and like several airlines around the world, Singapore Airlines has recently increased the number of destinations and frequencies throughout their network. We can look forward to more flights in the future as we slowly see travel restrictions in different countries serviced by Singapore Airlines to ease up.
Here are their updated flights from the Philippines as of time of writing.
Being an industry leader globally, we can expect Singapore Airlines to go above and beyond in keeping us safe to the best the can as we fly with their airline. Here is how Singapore Airlines is keeping us safe from the moment we enter boarding to when we disembark from the aircraft.
Before your flight
Singapore Airlines is promoting a contactless journey with the use of their mobile app to book your flights, generate your mobile boarding pass, access their e-library, check flight status, and explore other features. Make sure your information is up to date at all times to receive the latest news and updates regarding the airline and your flight.
Enhanced cleaning will also be implemented on all common surfaces such as windows, in-inflight entertainment, lavatories and galleys. Strong anti-bacterial disinfectants will be used to implement the enhanced cleaning procedures as well as replacement of pillows, blankets, and headrest covers every flight.
At boarding
Upon boarding you'll receive a complimentary SIA care kit containing a personal face mask, hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes for you flight. There will also be designated seating zones to separate transit and non-transit passengers.
During your flight
Of course the cabin will be equipped with HEPA filters that clean the cabin air and remove 99.9% of microbes. Cabin air is also refreshed every 2-3 minutes through the HEPA filters. Flight crew will be in personal protective gear such as goggles, face masks, and gloves(during meal service) during the flight.
Speaking of meal service, due to regulatory requirements meal service on Southest Asia and China flights will be suspended. Instead snack bags will be provided as a replacement. For all other flights meal service will be simplified. Maybe we'll make another article on how different meal service in each of the different cabin classes in the future.
What we can do
First of all we need to make travel safe for ourselves and has to start with us. If we are feeling unwell we should seek help immediately, wear face masks, use contactless payments and technologies as well as practice excellent personal hygiene. Hopefully this pandemic has taught us to be more aware of cleanliness and self awareness to help us all travel better.
