How to triple-dip with credit cards in the Philippines

Maximizing credit card points and miles isn't easy. It's often time-consuming and a good amount of effort is needed if you really want to get the most out of your points. One of my favorite ways of maximizing rewards is by triple-dipping.

Before we get into triple-dipping let's first talk about double-dipping. The act of double-dipping is when you earn points, miles, or cashback from your credit card, plus taking on rewards from another program.

An example of double-dipping is using cashback sites like ShopBack to earn both credit card points and cashback by making a purchase that you would have normally made.

Triple-dipping is the same concept is except we add a third reward with the same purchase.

One of my favorite ways to triple-dip is by using GrabPay. For example, let's say I'm planning to buy some doggy treats for my pugs on Lazada. I first use my credit card to cash in my GrabPay balance (earning me credit card points), then I open GetGo and click through their Lazada shopping link, which brings me to Lazada where I'll make my purchase by using the GrabPay digital card to pay (earning me GetGo points and GrabRewards points).

So I'm earning 3 different types of rewards on one single purchase I would have normally made with just a credit card.

The important thing here is cashing in your GrabPay card with a credit card so at the very least you're double-dipping. You can also change GetGo with ShopBack or any other rewards programs that will allow you to double or triple dip. GetGo is also transitioning to GoRewards so I'm not sure if you can do this particular hack.

Bottomline

Triple-dipping isn't always possible, but sometimes you can get significant value from doing so depending on cashback rates, promotions, and the amount of your purchase. Meaning bigger purchases are more worthwhile to triple-dip if you don't like going through so much effort.
