If you travel around the Philippines for work or business, you'll realize that trying to earn status at a hotel loyalty program can be difficult (especially if you aren't from Manila). International hotel chains are few and far between with majority of them concentrated in the country's capital.
There is one local hotel chain thats worth looking at, Seda hotels by Ayala Land. Seda has slowly grown their presence in carefully selected locations in the Philippines over the years. Currently with 11 hotels nationwide from Manila, Bacolod and even all the way to Palawan.

I personally think Seda's branding has been on point with earthy tones and colors mixed around modern design. When you enter a Seda hotel you feel this sort of elegant yet professional ambience you just don't feel when say you enter a Waterfront hotel in Cebu or Davao.
Seda Edge
Edge. Something you always need when doing business and Seda has well established themselves on being a business centered hotel chain. So let's take a quick look at their loyalty program Seda Edge.
The program has 2 membership tiers namely the Classic and Premier. Below are the benefits and privileges of each tier.
To reach Premier tier you'll need to stay 15 nights in a year, which again isn't that hard to achieve if you travel often for work to these emerging business hubs in the country.
The two tiers don't have too much differences between each other to be honest and it would have been nice to see lounge access included in the Premier membership.
Every ₱10 spend on rooms booked directly will earn you 1 Seda edge point which can be used to redeem free nights, room upgrades, lounge access, and food & beverage. Redemption values will vary per property.₱
Bottomline
The loyalty program is great but isn't amazing when you compare it to international loyalty programs like Marriott Bonvoy or Hilton Honors. Although it is a simple and straight forward loyalty program that is very much worth looking into if you frequent its locations as there aren't enough international business hotel chains in the Visayas and Mindanao.
