*This post was from a friend of a friend who recently flew from Melbourne to Cebu*
Traveling during this time isn’t as easy as before.
Bookings can be cancelled any time.
Border restrictions can be in place just a few days or hours before you fly resulting to flight cancellations.
Face shield and mask are mandatory once you set foot in the airport as well as keeping 1.5 m distance and getting a temperature check.
Plane temperature is higher than usual, hepa filters are installed and meals (business class and economy) are securely packed and bottled - no more stainless steel utensils and a paper cup for your orange juice (but there is for coffee).
Flight crews are in full PPE. Sadly, you won’t be able to see their pretty uniforms.
You will be filling out more than just your arrival or departure card and customs declaration. There’s an affidavit of undertaking, Bureau of Quarantine form and health declaration card and more (prior, during and after your departure and arrival).
Hotel booking must be made before the mandatory quarantine and properly fill out an electronic case investigation form (ecif) prior to your flight.
For international flights via Manila from overseas via PAL , RT-PCR test is done at the airport.
For domestic flights via PAL an RT-PCR test is required prior to departure. You also need to go through documents checking twice by PAL and COVID Shield prior to entry in Manila if you’re heading to any domestic destination.
Whilst at quarantine, you need to wait for your results to come out. For you to be able to checkout, you need a proof of negative test result from the testing lab and BOQ certificate.
If you’re traveling to any domestic destination or heading home (for LSI), you need to secure a barangay clearance.
There are heaps of changes and processes that you really need to go through. Just make sure you come at least an hour or two hours earlier than usual required arrival time at the airport cause documents checking do take some time. Moreover, make sure you have all the documents ready. This will also help the airport crew speed up the documents checking process.
Please be patient, be kind and follow rules ❤️
